The Wahkiakum Lady Mules basketball team used speed and quickness to defeat the Mossyrock Vikings 58-43 Tuesday evening in Cathlamet.
The Mules took control of the boards, stole Viking passes and put together fast breaks for a 21-9 first quarter lead.
Mossyrock tried to fight back, but they couldn't overcome the Mules speed and quickness. The Mules led 33-18 at halftime and 46-35 after three quarters.
Halie Boyce led the Mule scoring with 23 points. Jordyn Wirkkala and Evelyn Clark each had 14, Brieanna Olsen put in three, and Ashley Helms and Rebecka Patching two each.
Clark grabbed 11 rebounds and made nine steals. A. Helms had nine rebounds, nine assists and seven steals. Wirkkala had six rebounds, and Shelby Felton had five.
The Mules head to Adna on Saturday and close the regular season by entertaining Napavine on February 9.
