AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE 494 IN ITS ENTIRETY, AND REPEALING CERTAIN OBSOLETE OR UNNECESSARY SECTIONS OF THE Cathlamet MUNICIPAL CODE, AND ENACTING AUTHORIZATION FOR NECESSARY FUND ACCOUNTS AS PROVIDED BY LAW.

WHEREAS, the Town of Cathlamet, Washington desires to promote the fiscal integrity and financial accountability of its fund accounting systems, and ...

WHEREAS, the Town of Cathlamet has adopted Ordinance 494 to implement certain fund consolidation actions pursuant to recommendations from the State Auditor’s Office pursuant to its audit of the Town of Cathlamet’s books for fiscal years 2004-2005, and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN OF Cathlamet AS FOLLOWS: A summary of the Ordinance follows:

1. Ordinance 494 is repealed in its entirety, as well as certain other obsolete or unnecessary sections of the Cathlamet Municipal Code;

2. Enacted are certain authorizations for necessary fund accounts as provided by law.

I. Fund accounts affecting the following subjects are repealed, re-titled or authorized and established:

a. Library, Swimming Pool, Parks, Water/Sewer Revenue Bond Redemption Fund, Sewer Capital Projects Reserve and Sewer Emergency Reserve, 1997 Water Principal/Interest Fund, 1997 Water Bond Reserve Fund ;

b. Current Expense Cumulative Reserve (formerly Cumulative Reserve Timber) is re-titled and related funds reorganized.

c. Fund 401 – Water/Sewer Department is hereby established.

d. Fund 402 – Water Cumulative Reserve is hereby established.

e. Fund 403 – Sewer Cumulative Reserve is hereby established.

f. Fund 407 is re-titled the Water/Sewer Revenue Bond Reserve Fund.

g. Fund 420 – Water/Sewer Equipment Cumulative Reserve Fund is created.

This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force five (5) days after passage and publication.
