Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:
January 4--2:47 p.m. A Cathlamet business said a man came in and harassed employees; a deputy investigated. 3:51 p.m. Wahkiakum High School reported a student committed malicious mischief. 10:20 p.m. A fallen tree knocked out power on Crown Camp Road; the PUD was notified.
January 5--12:38 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale woman having a stroke. 11:34 p.m. A motorist reported a rock slide covered both lanes of SR 4 just east of County Line Park; two vehicles had flat tires; the state Department of Transportation was notified.
January 6--8:38 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a man with chest pain. 9:40 p.m. An officer checked on a car parked off SR 4 east of Cathlamet and arrested the driver for driving while license suspended and on a Department of Corrections warrant.
January 7--11:09 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a person violated a restraining order; a deputy investigated. 1:44 p.m. An East Birnie Slough Road resident said a man violated a restraining order; an officer found that the order had expired in July, 2008. 2:49 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman with breathing difficulty. 11:39 p.m. Persons county wide reported a power outage; the PUD manager said the outage occurred on a Bonneville Power Administration pole near Clatskanie; Bonneville this year will install a switch to keep Wahkiakum power going in outages such as this.
January 8--1:44 p.m. A Puget Island man reported a case of identity theft.
January 9--6:39 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident who had fallen. 3:30 p.m. A non-injury traffic accident was reported on SR 4 in Rosedale. 8:16 p.m. Officers responded to a non-injury traffic accident on SR 4 west of Skamokawa.
January 10--1:45 p.m. A caller reported that people had been poaching elk in the Elochoman Valley. 2:25 p.m. A Westend resident reported someone broken into a car and vandalized it. 6:58 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to a traffic accident at Deep River and transported a person to a hospital. 8:17 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident with a possible fracture.
