Three Wahkiakum Mules were nominated to the Central B All League team, and nine have qualified for the Central B All-Academic team.
"Jordyn Wirkkala was selected to the first team," Coach Jeff Rooklidge reported. "She led us with over 200 kills for the season and led us in service points and aces also. She is extremely quick and covers a lot of court on defense as well as being an excellent hitter and server. Jordyn is great communicator on the court and a great encourager to her teammates.
"Blaine Land was selected to the second team. She was the only sophomore to receive this honor. Blaine has the ability to deliver a lot of velocity on her attacks at the net. She was second on our team this season in kills. There were times this year when she dominated at the net with her strong hitting. Blaine improved in her ability to hit around double blocks as our competition focused on trying to slow her down with a strong block.
"Halie Boyce received an honorable mention selection for our league. She has very soft hands and nice touch and technique. She is quick on the court and does a good job of maintaining confidence and composure at all times. Halie was second on our team in aces and second in service points. She is a team first player who often stayed late to help her teammates work on their spiking at the end of practices."
Most Valuable Player of the league was Brandi Malakoff, the Toutle Lake libero. Toutle Lake's Don Merzoian Lake was named the coach of the year.
The Mules had nine girls named to the Central B league all academic team.
