Sheriff's Report - November 25, 2009

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

November 9--7:02 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that someone in a white pickup was harassing elk; a Fish and Wildlife agent was notified. 3:09 p.m. A Middle Valley resident reported identity theft. 3:43 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman with breathing trouble. 3:52 p.m. A Beaver Creek Road resident reported being threatened by a black dog while going for a walk. 7:26 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that hunters were trespassing; a deputy investigated.

November 10--10:13 a.m. A caller reported a theft of an engine hoist and handgun. 11:34 a.m. A Westend resident reported someone's dog was chasing chickens. 11:58 a.m. An Altoona-Pillar Rock Road landowner reported someone was trespassing and cutting trees.

November 11--7:44 a.m. A Westend resident reported hunters were trespassing. 10:24 a.m. A caller said three people were stealing cedar from private land three miles behind a gate on the 500 Line.

November 12--9:21 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman with breathing trouble, possibly from flu. 9:48 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid man with breathing distress, possibly from flu. 2:16 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid woman who was losing consciousness.

November 13--1:19 a.m. Officers responded to a Skamokawa residence where a person had been injured in a domestic disturbance. 12:11 p.m. An officer arrested a transient near Seal River on a Cowlitz County warrant. 5:08 p.m. A Cathlamet resident said someone had stolen a trailer. 6:45 p.m. A caller reported a dispute at a Westend business. 6:53 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Messinger Hill woman who had cut her hand. 10:24 p.m. A caller said a man who had been drinking was going to be driving from Skamokawa. 11:07 p.m. A caller reported a person who had been drinking had assaulted someone in Skamokawa; an officer investigated.

November 14--7:39 a.m. A Middle Valley resident reported hunters were shooting toward a Maki Road residence and spooked some horses; a Fish and Wildlife officer was notified. 9:36 a.m. A Westend resident said someone's dog was harassing horses. 10:25 p.m. A Westend resident reported being threatened; an officer investigated.

November15--2:29 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Messinger Hill resident who had fallen and couldn't get up. 6:35 a.m. A caller said someone had broken into a shop off the Upper Naselle River Road. 6:38 a.m. A non-injury traffic accident was reported on Beaver Creek Road; a tow company was notified.
