Wahkiakum County commissioners on Tuesday approved increases in fares for the ferry Wahkiakum.
The fares haven't been raised in 11 years. The new rates will be effective January 1.
The fare for passenger cars and pickups will go from $3 to $5 per trip.
Passengers in vehicles will ride free.
The fare for foot passengers will go from 50 cents to $1, and the fare for bicycles will increase from $1 to $2.
The fare for motorcycles will increase from $2 to $3, and for a motorcycle with trailer, from $3 to $4.
Trucks and motor homes over 25 feet will increase from $5 to $10.
The fare for trailers over 20 feet will increase from $3 to $4.
The fare for buses will increase from $15 to $20.
Frequent traveler ticket books, 44 punches, will increase from $75 to $100 on January 1, 2010, and $120 on January 1, 2011.
Frequent traveler ticket books, 22 punches, will increase from $44 to $50 on January 1, 2010, and $64 on January 1, 2011.
The fare for special trips will increase from $85 to $100.
