The Wahkiakum Mule volleyball team picked up two wins in Central League play this week.
On Tuesday, the Mules swept visiting White Pass 25-9, 25-20, 25-20.
Jordyn Wirkkala dominated at the net with 14 kills. Blaine Land made six and Amy Gawith four. Rebecka Patching had four blocks.
Setter Halie Boyce made 16 assists and had 15 points on 100 percent serving. Olsen had 11 points on 100 percent serving.
On October 13, the Mules swept Pe Ell on the road 25-17, 25-10, and 25, 20.
"Blaine led us in kills with 13," Coach Jeff Rooklidge reported. "Jordyn added 11. Haile had 21 assists. Amy and Rebecka worked hard at the middle blocker position and had four blocks each.
"Libero Ashley Helms led us on defense with several nice digs; she had been a consistent spark plug for us, chasing down balls all over the court. Defensive specialist Haylee Budd passed well in the back row, and Brieanna had some nice passes in service receive as well."
In serving, Helms and Wirkkala each had four aces. Helms had 11 service points, and Boyce had 11. Land and Gawith each made 100 percent of their serves.
The Mules are 6-3 in league play, 8-4 overall.
"Toutle Lake is undefeated in league and in first place," Rooklidge said. "Wahkiakum, Adna and Mossyrock are all bunched together fighting for second place going into the last two weeks of the season."
The Mules travel to Mossyrock tonight (Thursday) and entertain Adna next week in their last home match of the season. The end the regular season October 29 at Napavine.
