The Wahkiakum Mule boys cross country team had one of its best outings ever but still finished third in team standings in a tight meet last Thursday at White Pass.
"All the boys ran really well," said Mule Coach Mike Riley. "It has been a long time since we have had five guys run under 20 minutes in a 3.1 mile race. Most of the boys set personal best times at the meet.
"Tayler Nicks got first in the boy middle school race. He is a talented runner and is a lot of fun to watch."
The Mules compete at Millersylvania State Park today (Thursday) and host their only home cross country meet of the year next Thursday. Action starts at 3:30 p.m. with middle school races.
