Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
The countdown has begun! Only one week left until our 101st fair celebration. The fairgrounds are buzzing with activity as three new buildings are being constructed to help house this year’s animal exhibits.
This includes a new barn for the exotics as well as two other structures thanks to a donation of a Quonset by Grays River Grange member Krist Novoselic. Thanks to Krist’s generosity, we are now able to build two separate structures which will fit in perfectly beside the small animal barn.
Now what we need is some extra pairs of hands to help construct the new buildings. So, this Saturday from 10 a.m. the fairgrounds will be hosting a working party. If you have some spare time and want to lend a hand come down and show your support. We’ll even throw in a BBQ, so grab your work clothes and set your alarm, August 15 from 10 a.m..
I’m thrilled to confirm that the commercial area of the new arena will be open and ready for vendors and customers come next Thursday. Although there is no power within the building we will be providing extension cords. If you’d like a space please contact the fair office today (360 795 3480).
This year the fair board has promised to issue the premium checks within two weeks of fair. In order to keep the fair staff sane, please ensure you double check all information on each and every entry card you complete.
