What's Happening at the Fair?

Within the role of fair manager I’ve had the pleasure to work with a wide range of community based groups. I’m delighted to confirm that this year we’ve partnered with the Wahkiakum Community Network. A long time supporter of the fair, the Community Network has graciously agreed to sponsor a mechanical bull ride! Fun for any age, the mechanical bull ride will be available Friday and Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. each day. Both boards are excited to start a new tradition, focusing on working together to support our community.

Are you looking for a bargain this summer? A steal at only $6, grab your Season Pass today. Contact your local princess or the fair office to reserve your fair pass.

These days it’s a struggle to fit everything in. Balancing work with family is difficult and the fair board appreciates not everyone works nine to five. We want to support the community and provide options so that everyone can join in on our 101st fair this August. As a trial, this year the fair office hours will be extended. From this week onwards the office will be open 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursdays. Weekend appointments are also available upon request.

Have you gotten your copy of the Premium Book yet? The wait is finally over and the new and improved premium book is ready and waiting. This year there’s a new style, simplifying the scoring, making it easier to navigate.

Do you want to promote your business while at the same time, support your community? Then look no further! Join our 2009 Fair Sponsor Program. There are many choices available, so don’t miss your opportunity to reach your customers directly. Call the fair office today.

Calling all volunteers! Do you know someone with extra time on their hands? Do you need to complete your community service hours? The fair always needs volunteers but we also offer community service programs. If you have some time to kill or need to work some time off, give us a call.

If you’d like to become involved with the fair or have an idea on how the fair can be improved, you can send an email to wahkiakumfair@centurytel.net or call the fair office at 795-3480.
