Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
PJ's Pizza has moved from its former location in Rosedale to the restaurant building in Cathlamet at the intersection of SR 4 and Una Street.
Owner Paul Gragg said the move will allow him to expand the menu. He's calling the new restaurant "PJ's Pizza, Burgers, Breakfast and More."
Gragg said he has restaurants in two other locations and has wanted to expand the menu as he has done elsewhere.
"The kitchen in the old restaurant was too small, and this building was basically the only other option in town," he said.
The menu starts with traditional breakfast fare and includes a variety of sandwiches and dishes such as burgers, pasta, and seafoods.
"Our regular burger is a 10 ounce patty on a six-inch bun," Gragg said. "We serve a quarter pound patty for those who want a smaller burger."
Heading the breakfast crew is Janet Bryan, the experienced Cathlamet restauranteur who once operated Janet's Ranch House Restaurant in the same location.
"I've known Janet for years," Gragg said. "She heard us talking and offered to do the breakfast."
Bryan also operated Janet's Riverview Restaurant and Lounge before selling it a little over two years ago to Earl and Shirley Amos.
"I'm just an employee now," she said with a smile on her face. "I can do my work and just go home."
