Spelling Bee winners announced

The annual J.S. Wendt Elementary/John C. Thomas Middle School Spelling Bee was held March 26, at the grade school. Cody Bodine took top honors by spelling correctly two ninth grade words, "ventilation" and "superior." Shanna Havens and Ethan Cothren took second and third place respectively.

Other finalists were Shona Heywood, Kayli Quigley, Charly Childers, Shelby Robinson, Zac Malcolm, Peyton Souvenir, Connor Emlen-Petterson, Rory Heywood, Brendan Bair, Josh Pfenniger, Alex Johnson, Briana Oxley, and Jessica Hoven.

In the Primary Spelling Bee for first through third grades, there was a tie for first place between Rose Carosa and Kaylin Bingham. Grayci Thomas took second place, with Dru Grasseth taking third place.

Other finalists included Kole Matthews-Wright, Solana Stanley, Julianne McKay-Beach, Sara Buennagel, Emily Frank, Lucas Brown, Ryann Bailey, Aleona Goldinov, Evan Quigley, Mckensi Fluckiger, and Nathan Dault.
