Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Don’t miss this Saturday’s community auction. Starting at 1 p.m. at the fairgrounds in Skamokawa, come and discover the hidden treasures of Wahkiakum. Hosted by Brian McClain, this family event will help raise funds for the Fair Association, 4-H and WSU extension program. There will be lots of items to choose from and delicious snacks to enjoy, so make sure you come early as we promise to have bargains galore!
Time is running out! We have less than two weeks until the fair board meets to decide this year’s fair theme. Put on your thinking cap and start brainstorming as we want to hear about your ideas. Not only will your theme be used at our 101st fair this August but the winner will also receive a gift certificate to Sharon’s Pizza in Cathlamet, generously donated by Commissioner Blair Brady. All entries must be received before April 8 so what are you waiting for? Call or email the fair office today.
The Wahkiakum county fair royalty program is now accepting applications for 2009. This year we’re interested in anyone aged 14 or older who lives in the Wahkiakum / Naselle area. If a scholarship could help your son or daughter, why not consider enrollment? The royalty program is a great way to meet people, while picking up new skills. If you would like more information contact the fair office today at 795-3480.
Calling all bingo fans! The Easter Bingo is quickly approaching so dust off your lucky charms and prepare yourself for some serious bingo action. Scheduled for April 10; watch this space for more information.
