For the next two weeks, Dr. Mark Stefanelli will be seeing patients at the Wahkiakum Family Practice Clinic.

According to a news release from the clinic advisory board, Dr. Stefanelli is filling in for Dr. Janice McClean while she is on vacation. Most recently, Dr. Stefanelli practiced in Seaside, Ore., and has considerable experience with urgent care and emergency room care. His board certification is in internal medicine.

Dr. Stefanelli has also served as a physician advisor to the Gearhart and Seaside fire departments.

“I really enjoy working with Dr. Stefanelli,” said Mike Meno, physician’s assistant at the clinic, of his previous employment with Dr. Stefanelli. “It was one of the best jobs I ever had.”

Dr. Stefanelli is married to Dr. JoAnn Stefanelli and they have two children.

Dr. Stefanelli studied medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the same school’s hospital in 1989. He has had lots of experience with emergency medicine over the years including serving at the Providence Seaside Hospital and the Columbia Memorial Hospital in Oregon. Advisory board members urge Wahkiakum residents to welcome Dr. Stefanelli if they see him in the next two weeks.
