Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Last Saturday, eight members of the Intro to Media Workforce Prep Class toured KLTV in Longview. Producer Joe Creppell spoke to the youth about community access television. They learned about the type of editing software used, toured the production studio and learned about the use of a “green screen,” they also got to view a production by another youth team. Next Saturday, they will tour the KMUN radio station in Astoria with Kathleen Morgain.
The Benefit Auction that will be held on March 28 is still looking for sale items. Call the Fair or Extension office if you have items you would like to donate. You can check on our progress on Brian McClain’s website at: http://www.mcclainauctions.net.
The next Workforce Prep Class that WSU is preparing for will be called “Green Works” and deals with renewable resources. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in sharing their science and technology expertise and interest in these projects. Please contact the WSU Extension office if you have a couple of hours to share for this after-school class.
We will be starting “Strengthen Families” classes in April. This is a seven week course to help parents and youth learn family communication skills to work together. The youth sessions are for 10 to 14 year olds and the class includes an evening meal. We are looking for volunteers to help facilitate curriculum delivery.
Be sure to watch for short articles in The Eagle from the 4-H Clubs about what they are doing this year.
