Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Greg and Barbara Bain, owners of the Cathlamet Chevron and RV Park were presented with the Lattie Metcalf Award last month, an annual award given to businesses in Wahkiakum County. The Bains were recognized for their customer service standards, for meeting the needs of local residents and visitors and for being supporters of the community.
The award is given by the Lower Columbia Economic Development Council (LCEDC) each year in memory of Mr. Lattie Metcalf who was a founding member of the LCEDC and who was passionate about his community and its economic development.
"Cathlamet Chevron joins 18 other businesses that have been honored with this award since it began in 1991," said LCEDC Vice President Holly Pfenniger. "Over the past eight years, Greg and Barbara have grown their business and continue to meet the changing needs of their customers. The many ways in which they give back to their community are outstanding. We are honored to be able to present this award to them and we believe that Lattie Metcalf would be proud of the way the Bains carry on business in our county."
