Tuesday was senior night for the Mules, and seniors Blake Anderson, Chase Fritzie and Danny Helms started and saw lots of action. The Mules threw trapping zone defense on the Huskies, and the visitors had trouble all night. The Mules led 18-9 after one quarter and 39-20 at halftime.

Troy Howard put in several three point shots in the first half and led the Mule scoring with 22 points. Fritzie added 19, Justin McClain seven, Anderson five, John Chambers three, Helms three, and Brad Pugh 2.

Last Saturday, the shorthanded Mules lost 66-42 at Mossyrock. The Vikings led 32-23 at halftime, and the Mules, with several players injured or ill, couldn't get back into the game in the second half.

Anderson led the Mule scoring with 13 points; Fritzie had seven; Howard, Pugh and Ryan Helms all had three, and McClain two.

On February 3, the Mules lost 54-51 at Columbia Adventist. The Mules led 32-25 at halftime, but the Kodiaks outscored them 29-19 in the second half.

The Mules made 18 of 20 free throws in the game, 90 percent, but only 13 of 43 shots, 30 percent.

Fritzie led the Mule scoring with 23 points; Howard had 11, Cody Olsen 10, Pugh five and Anderson two.

The Mules close out the regular season on the road today (Thursday) at White Pass.

They'll start district tournament competition next Monday at Chehalis probably as the Central League's seventh place entry; the opponent will be determined by final league standings. If they win, they'll play Wednesday in Rochester or Montesano; if they lose, they'll play Saturday at a site to be determined.

The Eagle will update its website, http://www.waheagle.com, as information becomes available.
