Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
It’s been a productive week for the cleanup crew, working together to remove the flood debris. The team has been working hard restoring the Cow Barn and Grange to their former glory and are determined to make the fairgrounds shine. I must admit frozen water pipes make cleaning a challenge but the team has been very resourceful.
Plans are in full swing for the annual Valentine Diamond Dinner happening on February 14 at the Grange Hall in Skamokawa. The fair board has been working flat out to create a unique evening of wonderful food and fantastic entertainment.
This year we have some amazing raffle prizes including a gorgeous diamond necklace, generously donated by Mike Mouliot. Each diner receives one ticket with their meal with additional tickets a steal at $1. All proceeds benefit the fair with 10 percent donated to the WSU Extension.
Dinner kicks off at 6 p.m. with a delicious bacon wrapped filet-mignon as the main course. The dinner includes a steaming baked potato, crisp green salad, decadent dessert with a glass of wine and coffee.
After dinner sit back and enjoy the very talented Sunrise Fletcher as he and his musical friends serenade you and your loved one. Seating is limited to 150 so grab your tickets today.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the Bank of the Pacific, Lower Columbia Realty or Trillium Books. You can also call the fair office on 795-3480 or purchase your tickets through fair board members Martha Backman, Blair Brady, Gregg Carlson, Bill Coons, Patty Dursteler or Susan Patterson.
