The annual 4-H sponsored “Jamboree” held December 6 was attended by 16 4-H members and family members. This is the second year for this event held the first Saturday in December and coordinated by 4-H leader Deb Gribskov.
Youth are invited to come and learn how to make jam and properly process it in canning jars. They make enough jam to take some home and leave one with Gribskov for entry in the county Fair in August. Participants also made chocolate chip cookies and took home a bag of treats for the holidays.
This year 4-Hers donated a jar of jam to be sold at the Holiday Bazaar on December 13 sponsored by the Wahkiakum County Fair. The Bazaar will be held at the fairgrounds from 3 to 6 p.m. There will be other goodies made by 4-Hers for sale also and sold in support of the county 4-H program.
