Churches offer Christmas dinner

Member churches of the Wahkiakum Interfaith Network are offering a free turkey dinner on Christmas Day to anyone.

Dinner will be served in hour-long sittings from 12 noon to 3 p.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Puget Island. A freewill offering will be collected and donated to community foodbanks.

Dinner will include roast ham and turkey with dressing and the rest of a traditional turkey dinner.

The dinner is offered to all persons, whether or not they are church members.

Diners are asked to call 849-4412, the number for Our Saviour's, and leave a message to make a reservation.

"We ask that people make reservations so that our cooks know how much to prepare," said Pastor Randy Haas of Our Saviour's.

People may also call that number, 849-4412, to arrange transportation to and from the meal site.

Interfaith network members include St. Catherine Catholic Church, Cathlamet United Church of Christ, Skamokawa United Methodist Church, Cathlamet Seventh Day Adventist Church, River of Life Assembly of God, St. James Episcopal Church and Our Saviour's.
