“The clinic is staying here in business and going to be operating!” said Sandi Benbrook-Rieder, Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce President. Recruiting for a new clinic operations manager has finished.
Crystal Stanley will be trained and will likely start before the end of the year. “Her abilities are practically legendary,” Benbrook-Rieder said. Stanley previously owned Columbia View Care Center nursing home and made positive changes there.
Incoming chamber President Jennifer Hanigan reported the Christmas tree lighting went well. Santa Claus made an appearance with candy canes for the kids of all ages. “It was a lot of fun,” she said. Hanigan said she has several ideas for next year and has already begun research for those. She thanked everyone who came out to help.
Chamber Secretary Cathy LaBerge said bidding for the Festival of Trees will continue until December 15. “We have fewer trees this year than we have had before, but we have $250 in bids so far which is really good.” The trees can be seen in the lobby of the Hotel Cathlamet on Main Street.
