What's happening at the Fair?

Don’t miss this Saturday’s McClain’s auction; Brian has a great range of items which would make excellent Christmas presents. Come early as you won’t want to miss out on these bargains.

Mark your calendars as it’s almost time for the annual Wahkiakum County Fairgrounds Christmas Carnival, happening December 13. Santa and his merry elves will be hosting the Carnival from 3 – 6 p.m., offering lots of cool prizes.

This year we’re introducing a Christmas Bazaar to the Carnival and hope to provide a wide selection of holiday items. Great gifts, locally made crafts and scrumptious delights, you’ll find something for everyone.

Anyone can have a space at the Bazaar, but you must act now as we operate on a first come first served basis. Tables are a steal at $10 so if you want to raise some extra funds this holiday season, call the fair office today 795-3480.

Each year hundreds of volunteers step forward to ensure we have a fair, and without them the fair would cease to exist. I can’t thank them enough for donating their time and hope the community recognizes their contribution.

Maybe you don’t have the time to volunteer but there are many ways that you can show your support of the fair. Why not join our new program ‘Friends of the fair’? For a $25 donation, you will receive a free season’s pass to our 101st fair as well as entrance to all fairground events. Your donation is not only tax deductible but provides an opportunity for you to do your part in keeping the Wahkiakum County fair alive.

If you’d like to become more involved with the fairgrounds or have an idea on how we can improve the fair, please contact me. My email is wahkiakumfair@centurytel.net or phone 795-3480.
