Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Our Haunted House fundraiser was a lot of fun, with screams of terror as well as delight, as families came together to enjoy the 4-H bake sale, carnival games and haunted house. The hot apple cider flowed as we laughed, screamed and worked together to raise money for next year’s fair.
I wish to thank all of the fantastic kids who volunteered; you did a great job and really made the night fun. We had students from all over the county including Naselle, Skamokawa, and Cathlamet. Lisa Frink was a tremendous help organizing the Kiwanis club as well as Justin Laine who helped co-ordinate Naselle students. Thank you for all your hard work.
I also wish to say a special thank you to our event sponsor Cathlamet Chevron for their generous donation and support.
Last but far from least I must say a huge thank you to Erick Erickson who very generously allowed us to use his coffin, zombie and fog machine within the haunted house. The coffin is a piece of Hollywood history as it was used in the 1979 George Hamilton film ‘Love at First Bite’. The coffin, his zombie ‘Mort’ and the fog machine were definitely the highlights of the haunted house so thank you again Erick for being so kind.
