Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Wahkiakum County’s 1st Annual Oktoberfest is almost upon us, promising to be a day of good food, excellent brews with live music and the first ever Pumpkin Shot-put contest.
For those who plan to sample a wide selection of our frosty beverages, why not come prepared and take advantage of the fair campground. You can eat, drink and be merry and then enjoy a short walk to your bed. If you would like to reserve a space please contact me at the fair office. Rates are $15 a night and include water and electricity.
As fall takes hold it means the end of summer but also it reminds us that it’s almost Halloween! One of my personal favourites, this Halloween we have something special in store down at the fairgrounds. Whether you're eight or 80 come and see for yourself the scariest Haunted House this side of the Columbia. Only the brave will enter but who will survive?
We’ll also be holding a Jack-o-Lantern contest, with prizes for scariest, funniest and most creative. So sharpen your carving tools and put on your thinking cap, as the winners will not only receive a prize but will be posted on the fair website.
The Grange will also be hosting a Costume Ball, offering live music and prizes for best costumes. Mark your calendars now as November 1 is an event you will not want to miss.
For more information please contact the fair office on 360 795 3480.
