WA-KI-HI News

Leaves changing color, football chants heard for miles, and the smell of new books. This can all only mean one thing: School has begun! My name is Kari Schillios and I was elected Public Relations Manager for the school year 2008- 2009. My job is to keep you, the community, involved and informed about what is going on at the high school! I am looking forward to fulfilling my duties and being an active member of the ASB.

What a great summer we had! WA-KI-HI Key Club kept busy helping out with local service projects. The football, volleyball and basketball teams never rested playing tournaments, summer leagues and attending team camps. Congrats to the Lady Mules volleyball team for placing first at the team camp they participated in. The camp, Guy Enrique's team camp seemed to focus on bonding and communication.

The girls had a great season last year and by what I have seen and heard so far, the 2008 line-up is going to do just the same! This Friday our mighty football team is going to be battling long time rivals the Naselle Comets for the KM trophy. What a better way for the community to get involved and support the athletes, by being under those bright Friday night lights? It is such an awesome sight to see our stadium packed with red and black and the fans lining the track! So come this Friday and cheer on our Mighty Mules as we crush the Comets and claim that legendary KM trophy! And while you are there, you can also take a peek at the new back drop above the bleachers. Thanks to Sara Cothren and Paige Kehrli We are lucky to have a fresh, vibrant design overlooking the field!

As the Class of 2012 enters high school the ever so dreaded transition should not be difficult. We are all very excited to blend a new group of students into our already amazing student body. With such a great line up of faculty, students, spirit and opportunities and WA-KI-HI, the school year 2008-2009 is sure to not let anyone down. I am very much looking forward to bringing the community the insider scoop as the year progresses. There is much more where this came from! Thanks so much!
