Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
With less than a month to go we’re pulling out all the stops to make this year’s 100th fair celebration a once in a lifetime event.
Animal entries were due yesterday but will still be accepted next week. If you need more time or have a question please ring the fair office as we’d be happy to help.
The princesses and I wish to thank the WSU extension office for organizing the watermelon eating contest at this year’s Bald Eagle Days celebration. Their generosity and commitment to the fair is a shining example of the wonderful people who live in Wahkiakum.
Speaking of wonderful people… I would like to say a huge thank you to the Wahkiakum County sheriffs who went well beyond the call of duty, braving the dunk tank for almost two hours on behalf of the fair. Together we raised over $300! The winner for the princess raffle is Diana Peterson of Puget Island . Congratulations, the princesses will contact you to arrange your prize.
Calling all volunteers! Would you like to be part of this year’s fair? We need volunteers for the gates, gardening, office work, you name it. Call or drop by the office today.
Lastly, I am happy to confirm that the third annual Battle of the Bands is in full swing so if you think you’ve got what it takes, pick up an entry form today.
