Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891
Naselle High School held graduation ceremonies for its 21 seniors last Saturday.
Valedictorian was Sylvia Herrold. Awards which she received included Washington State Honors, Principal's Leadership, Wendy's National High School Heisman, and US Army Reserve National Scholar/Athlete.
Salutatorian was Kevin Schei.
Graduating with Gold Honors for a grade point average of 3.5 or higher were Herrold, Schei, Stephanie Wise, who also received a Washington State Honors Award, Ashley Ahlstrom and Logan Hazen. Graduating with Silver Honors, 3.2-3.49, was Narci Carlson.
Class members received a large number of scholarships. These included:
Herrold--Western Oregon University awarded her a four-year $36,000 total athletic scholarship and a four-year academic scholarship to be determined. She also received but declined a Seattle Pacific University four-year $24,000 academic merit scholarship and a four-year $32,000 athletic scholarship. She received the Emma Holm Memorial Scholarship $500; Derby Dollars for Scholars $1,000, Lyle and Elaine Patterson Tribute Scholarship $1,000, Bobbit Hall Memorial $500.
Wise--Bank of the Pacific $2,250, Naselle Congregational Church Martha's Circle $500, Naselle Lutheran Church $500, Pacific County Democrat Club $500.
Carlson--Baylor University awarded her A four-year $40,000 total Gold Scholarship and another four-year additional scholarship totalling $41,600 for four years. She also received a Naselle Education Foundation scholarship for $1,000, Derby Dollars for Scholars $1,000, Covered Bridge Fund $500, Naselle Lutheran Church $500, Naselle Lions Club $250, Pacific County Sheriff's Department $250.

Jamie Gilbert--Peggy Busse Memorial $750.

Several students will attend Clatsop Community College and receive Success Grants in the amount of $300 per term, totaling $1,800 over two years--Witwer, Gilbert, Butchart, Rangila, Cooper, Ruch, Sawtell, Maki, Gilbert, Gradt, Logan Hazen, and Brandi Keightly.
