Candidates startto file for election

Candidates start to file for election

Candidates for public offices on this fall's election ballots started filing this week; the filing period ends Friday.

County Commissioner Dan Cothren has filed for re-election to represent District 2 on the board of commissioners; he is running as an Independent.

Wahkiakum PUD Commissioner Larry Reese has filed for re-election to represent District 1 on the PUD board of commissioners. PUD commissioners are non-partisan.

Puget Island resident Bill Coons has filed as a Democrat candidate for the District 1 seat on the county board of commissioners. Incumbent George Trott has announced he will not seek re-election.

Three people had filed for precinct committee person positions. They are DiAnne E. Knudsen Democrat, Rosedale; Susan M. O'Connor, Democrat, Skamokawa, and Len Lindsley, Republican, East Puget Island.
