Free household hazardous wastes turn-in set

Wahkiakum County residents will be able to turn in unwanted household hazardous wastes June 7, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Wahkiakum PUD parking lot.

Peoplle may turn in pesticides, paint, thinners, solvents, motor oil, antifreeze, pool chemicals, hobby chemicals, cleaning products, and toxic, corrosive or flammable materials.

Material from businesses, farms, schools and churches, unlabeled products, explosives and other materials won't be accepted.

The event is for residents of only Wahkiakum and Cowlitz counties.

The event is sponsored by Wahkiakum and Cowlitz counties and the state Department of Ecology.
