Public comments sought on proposed Heritage Area

Destination: The Pacific will be holding a series of meetings for the public to share ideas and input for the Columbia-Pacific National Heritage Area Study and Environmental Analysis.

Comments are sought on issues such as heritage area themes, the community's resource assets, and the proposed heritage area boundary.

In Wahkiakum County a Community Leadership Workshop will be held on March 5, 1:30-3 p.m. at the River Street Meeting Room in Cathlamet. A General Public Workshop will also be held on March 5 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. also in the River Street Meeting Room.

In Naselle, a Public Input Workshop will be held March 3 from 1 - 2:30 p.m. at the Appelo Archive Center, 1056 SR 4.

A reception for those who participate will take place on March 8 at the Loft at the Red Building in Astoria, by the Cannery Pier Hotel. The event will start at 6:30 p.m. and will include award presentations and sea shanty singing. Appetizers will be provided by regional restaurants with a hosted bar of wine and beer.
