An "Echo from the past" comes from the past

From the Columbia River Sun, Thursday, December 30, 1920, Cathlamet, Wahkiakum County, Washington.

"Echos from the Past-30 years ago, December 30, 1890--John Nelson of Deep River in Cathlamet. Tom Irving went to Astoria Wednesday to consult doctor regarding Jessee Beemis who has been quite sick. Henry Kaup in Portland. 35 Settlers on Puget Island with a population of over 100 people. S. F. Albert and wife visited Stella. Capt. Whitcomb of the Cascade blew a New Year blast December 30, 1890. Victor Wshubrn and Lilly Edward of Brookfield were married December 29, 1890 at Hotel de Frederichsen by Judge Graham.

School election held on Puget Island with John Girep, Ole Grove and Sven Svenson elected directors. John Ostervold is clerk. Receipt of Astoria Guide F. G. Eggman went to Astoria. John LaMont is rebuilding scow to used in Salmon Fishing. Wm. Oatfield and Jennie McNeal were Married at Cathlamet last Friday at Hotel DeGrath by Judge Graham."
