Wahkiakum commissioners make request of FERC

On Tuesday, Wahkiakum County Commissioners George Trott, Dan Cothren and Blair Brady signed a letter asking the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to order an independent evaluation of risk and other factors to the county from the proposed Bradwood Landing LNG plant.

The letter, written at the request of Brady, asks FERC to require plant sponsor NorthernStar Natural Gas to fund the assessment. The assessment would evaluate safety and security needs and impacts to the county and its residents. The assessment would be the basis of a community benefits agreement between the county and NorthernStar, the commissioners said.
