Con Amici return to Pioneer Church for classical concert

Classical chamber music group Con Amici will return to Cathlamet to play a holiday concert at the town’s Pioneer Church on December 8.

Selections for the concert will include Beethoven's Opus 16 and Brahms' Sonata #1. Vocalist Jennifer Johnson will sing Schubert’s Ave Maria and the group will play a variety of holiday music and some traditional carols.

Local artist Andrew Emlen will play cello with the group and will present "Allegro non Troppo," from Brahms' Sonata #1, written specially for cello and piano.

Con Amici consists of Kristina Birchler, violinist; David Lee Myers on viola and violin; Betsey Ellerbroek on viola; and Alexandra Myers on grand piano. The group was founded in Astoria in early 2001.
