Youth football teams ends successful season

The Wahkiakum Youth Football team finished their third season with a record of four wins and two losses last Saturday in Longview.

During the season, they beat Toutle Lake 25-0; Swansons 41-6; Krume Logging 25-0; and Athlete's Corner 19-0. They lost to Castle Rock 7-12 and Columbia Ford 13-14.

The team will lose 11 sixth graders this year, seven of whom have played all three years.

"We'd like to thank our sponsor Blix Construction and all others who donated throughout the year to our team," Coach Lamar Blix said.

He also thanked Coach Hansen and the members of the Mule football team for helping to host the team's home games and his assistant coaches for volunteering their time.
