At their meeting on October 1, the Wahkiakum Democrats made recommendations on ballot measures, endorsed Democrats running for office and set a Halloween Party as a "funraiser".
The Wahkiakum Democrats recommend a "No" vote on Initiative Measure No. 960, that Referendum Measure 67 (ESSB 5726) be "Approved", and strongly recommend that Engrossed House Joint Resolution 4204 be "Approved". No position was taken on the other ballot measures.
Democrats running for election were endorsed. This includes Brian Hatfield for state senator from LD 19 and Blair Brady for Wahkiakum County Commissioner for District 3.
This Saturday there will be a Halloween Party and Costume Contest at the River Rat Tap Tavern. starting at 7 p.m. Suggested donation is $5, and no-host food and beverages will be available.
The next meeting of the Wahkiakum County Democrats will be November 5 at 7 p.m at the Duck Inn in Skamokawa. All Democrats and prospective democrats are invited and encouraged to attend.
