Mule JV’s come up short in Adna

October 18 , 2007

On October 8, the Wahkiakum Mule junior varsity traveled to Adna and lost 34 to 0.

"The game was closer than the score indicated," said Mule JV Coach Kevin Patching. "The Mules only suited up 13 players to 26 for Adna and were overmatched against a junior laden JV team. The Mules team primarily consists of freshmen and a few sophomores.

"Adna had a short field to work with all game long and had an 83 yard touchdown run by the punter after the ball was dropped. The Mules really ran hard and made some great defensive plays, but not enough to score. "

The Mules gained 92 yards rushing and completed two of seven passes for 33 yards. Leading the offense were Cameron Elliott with 46 yards in 10 carries and Bryce McClain with 40 yards rushing in nine carries. Phillip Doumit led the defense with six tackles; Jeff Vik and Zach Schneider each had four, and James Goldsmith had three.
