Here we go!
Today, Tomorrow and Saturday! Hot Saw, Speed Climb, log rolling and more. That’s the Jeff Skirvin Timber Sports Show, twice daily, at the Wahkiakum County Fair, starting today in Skamokawa. The 4-H horse show runs all day, Cameron Collins and Greg Parke will be taking musical turns on the Entertainment Stage with tunes to tap your toes and tickle your heartstrings. Grange burgers, Buffalo burgers, footlong hotdogs, Thai, Chinese, Pronto pups and Elephant Ears will keep your strength up as you stroll through the many exhibits your friends and neighbors have been busily putting together these past weeks.
Sponsored by Douglas G. Martin, DMD, Kristi Nebel and the Celluloid Cowboys will take to the Entertainment Stage at 7:30 p.m. tonight, with songs of the Hollywood cowboys. Willapa Hills will grace the stage on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by Dented Trucks and Chicago style blues, sponsored by Lower Columbia Realty.
Friday is Kids day, everyone under 14 in free until 4 p.m. The Grays River Grange Spelling Bee begins at 2 p.m. on the Entertainment Stage. Then, The Kids Slow Lawnmower Race will be held in the Fairgrounds Park at 2:30 p.m, followed by the Young People’s Karaoke Contest at 3 p.m., sponsored by Elk Mountain Ranch.
More fun for the young on Saturday, as Ohrberg Excavation sponsors the Greased Pig Contest. One pig has ‘scratched’, so competition will be keen in the races for two weaners and a feeder!
Finish off your Saturday night as Skamokawa and Grays River Granges sponsor The Battle of the Bands. This one’s gonna be loud!
Chick it out! and spend the day in Skamokawa!
