The Julia Butler Hansen Heritage Center will host a show of "Heritage Handwork" on September 1 on Labor Day weekend at the Center in Cathlamet.
In the past, quilts have been displayed over the holiday weekend. This year other handwork pieces will be on view for the public. Handmade christening dresses, crewel embroidery, tatted pieces, crocheted items and other historic items will be put on the beds in the house for visitors to see as they tour the Center. The show will be open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be no charge, though donations are invited.
Those who would like to loan their handwork items for the show are encouraged to bring them to the Heritage Center on Friday, August 31 from 1 to 4 p.m. All items will be handled carefully and if too fragile to be out in the open, will be put in the display cabinet.
