We have a couple of pretty important deadlines quickly approaching, Summer Camp Registration and Washington State Grange Convention.
Summer Camp at Camp Morehead Junior Grange Camp located at 27600 Sandridge Road, Ocean Park is scheduled for July 8 - 13. Five days of wonderful fun for your child aged 8-14. Best part of this is that your family does not need to be a Grange member for your child to participate in our summer camp program. Registration fee for Camp Morehead is $150. However, if received by June 15 it will be reduced to $130. I know the 15th is tomorrow so call Tom Gwin at 360-987-2361 now, tell him your child wants to attend and work with him on the registration fee.
We are also accepting registration for Camp Mayfield Junior Grange Camp located on Mayfield Lake, scheduled for July 22- 28. I have worked at this camp and let me tell you it is very much worth the effort to get your child there. Registration Fee for Camp Mayfield is also $150 and if received by July 1st will be reduced to $125. (July 1 gives you a little more time to make this decision) Marilyn Armit receives the registration fees for this camp and may be contacted at 360-983-3874. I can mail the necessary forms to you if you call me at 360-465-2253. Give your child a great summer experience - let them attend one of the Grange Summer Camps, you will be glad you did.
Washington State Convention will be held this summer at Moses Lake, June 27 - 30. I will be on the way on Monday June 25. I have made arrangements with our Pomona Contest Winners for picking up their winning entries that will be entered again at the State level; however, for everyone working on items that will be judged at the convention please complete your work and get your items to me by the 24. These include everyone working on the Dressed Cow Contest items, Quilt Block Contest, Stuffed Toys and Christmas in the Northwest tree ornaments. You should have all the requirements for these items, but if not you can call me for additional information. You still have time to enter these contests if you hustle your bustle! Well that's what my mother used to tell me.
I am so proud of all our Wahkiakum County winners as their efforts represent our area along side the entries from all over our state. It is great fun for me to be part of this outstanding program that is our State Grange.
