Port District No. 1 will hold an oil spill response training day next Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Elochoman Slough Marina.
The training is to allow local fire and police departments, marina staff, and anyone interested to become familiar with the marina's newly acquired oil spill response equipment, said marina spokesman Abe York.
The class is limited to 20 participants. The class will be held in the barbecue area; hands-on training will be at the launching ramp.
The marina has one 14-foot skiff for the training; but organizers would like to have a second one if someone would volunteer, York said.
For more information, contact the marina, 795-3501.
