    New immunization rates show many toddlers across the state aren’t getting vaccinated for certain diseases on time, if at all, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Immunization Survey. The state Department of Health commented in an August 27 news release that this trend means more children are at risk of getting measles, whooping cough, or other preventable diseases. The Board voted to cancel the 2015 Battle of the Bowls: Chili vs. Chowder competition due to low turnout from cooking participants.
