    The Wahkiakum High School track team joined four other schools in Kalama last Thursday for their first Class 2B meet of the season. The Mule girls and boys teams placed third and fifth, respectively. The girls finished with 78 points and the boys finished with 14.     For the first time in three years, the Wahkiakum High School has a softball team. The Lady Mules also have a new coach, Stephanie Green. Of the 13 girls who turned out this season, only four have played the sport before.     The Wahkiakum Mules baseball team won two more games this week. They are currently tied with Adna for first place in the Central 2B League with a 3-0 league, 3-1 overall record.     Wahkiakum alum Baylee Olsen, a junior transfer to Cal State San Marcos, just finished her third season of collegiate basketball. Beset by illness this year, she struggled a bit, but according to mom, Shelley Olsen, her coach has high hopes for her senior year. Olsen played 24 games, averaging 16.5 minutes, 4.5 points, and 1.9 rebounds. Against Azusa Pacific on November 24, she scored 18 points, pulled down five rebounds and had one block and one steal.     After a tough start, the Wahkiakum girls basketball team won the next two games to claim fourth place at the 2018 State 2B tournament in Spokane last week. The team started the tournament on Thursday in the quarterfinals against Napavine, a team that had proved to be troublesome for them earlier this year.     The Naselle Comets boys basketball team ended their season with a 50-47 loss to Tacoma Baptist last Wednesday in the first round of the State 1B tournament in Spokane.
