For the first time in three years, the Wahkiakum High School has a softball team. The Lady Mules also have a new coach, Stephanie Green. Of the 13 girls who turned out this season, only four have played the sport before. Wahkiakum alum Baylee Olsen, a junior transfer to Cal State San Marcos, just finished her third season of collegiate basketball. Beset by illness this year, she struggled a bit, but according to mom, Shelley Olsen, her coach has high hopes for her senior year.
