    Wahkiakum County voters made their choices Tuesday in elections for school boards, port districts and Cathlamet mayor and council members. And in advisory votes, they also overwhelmingly supported repealing tax and financial measures passed by the state legislature.     Wahkiakum Health and Human Services will offer Pfizer vaccine for 5-11 year olds starting Monday, November 8, 2021. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that adults, children, and adolescents age 5 and older get a COVID-19 vaccine. The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is authorized for children and adolescents age 5 and up, as a 2-dose series taken 3 weeks apart.     Wahkiakum County commissioners covered a lot of ground when they met Tuesday, from approving needed staffing for the mental health program to approving a franchise for Western Wahkiakum County Telephone Company's broadband expansion into the eastern portion of the county.     Two permanent signs erected in Cathlamet to honor the Chinook tribes who once occupied this area will be dedicated on November 6, at noon, at the Elochoman Slough Marina.     There have been five cases of covid-19 reported in Wahkiakum County in the last week, with two on Friday, two on Monday, and one on Tuesday. This brings the cumulative total of cases to 254, with 14 considered potentially active.     There were four new cases of covid-19 reported in Wahkiakum County this week, with three on Thursday and one on Tuesday, for a cumulative total of 249 cases since the pandemic began. On Friday, Wahkiakum County Health and Human Services WHHS) announced confirmation of two more cases, bringing the total to 251. Of those, 12 are considered potentially active.
