    This weekend we will mark the 7th annual Columbia River Country Days. This event was initiated by local volunteers to celebrate Wahkiakum County and to raise money and awareness for WSU Extension and 4-H. Friday kicks off with a Pie Social and live music at the Puget Island Farmers Market, with pies made by 4-H families and volunteers.     The Pe Ell/Willapa Valley Titans pounded the Wahkiakum Mules for a 41-6 Central League football game Friday in Cathlamet. The Titans wasted little time getting on the scoreboard.     Lifelong Rosburg resident Norman Elmer Anderson, 98, died in Forks, Wash., Aug. 23, 2014, a mere four days short of his 99th birthday. Norman was born in Astoria, Aug. 27, 1915, after his mother took a boat across the Columbia River, staying with a friend in Astoria, awaiting his arrival. His parents were Hjalmar and Minnie (Peterson) Anderson. Norman attended the Seal River school in Rosburg, traveling there by row boat through the sixth grade.
