    The Wahkiakum Mules wrestling team has a new head coach, Ross Lofstrom. Lofstrom, who graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 2008, never wrestled for the Mules. Instead, he played for the basketball team. These days he knows that if wrestling and basketball had different seasons, he would have gladly participated in both.     The Wahkiakum Mules girls basketball team forfeited their game with Napavine last Wednesday, because of injuries and illness, but came back on Friday with a win on the road against Onalaska, 42-30. There were no statistics available for the game, but Coach Rob Garrett reported that Reigha Niemeyer scored 17 points. The Lady Mules traveled to Kalama on Wednesday.     Darcy Rae Tischer passed away peacefully December 3, 2022, in Vancouver Hospice with her family by her side after a long battle with health issues. Darcy was born to Lee and Diane Tischer in Longview on July 26, 1984. She attended school in Cathlamet, where she made many lifetime friends. She worked at the Bank of the Pacific until her health would not allow her to continue. Darcy married Jesse Aragon and had a daughter Leanndra; after they divorced, Darcy had a son Louis with Tayler Stornetta....
