    Kay Chamberlain, Wah. Co. Eagle|Dec 11, 2013

COLD ENOUGH?--Holy cow, has it been cold or what?! Couple the low temperatures with winds and some snow and those temperatures really took a nose dive. Out here in West Valley, I had a reading of six degrees one early, early morning, although my thermometer on the south side of the house said, eleven degrees, but either way you look at it, it was just bitter cold out there. By the time you read this, we should be back to rain if the forecasters are correct and I hate to say it, but rain would actually look good right now, even though this...

  • Holiday lighting tradition nearing the end

    Diana Zimmerman, Wah. Co. Eagle|Dec 11, 2013

Bruce Holland has been putting up lights and setting out decorations for the Christmas season for as long as he can remember. As a renter, he could only do a margin of what he does today. When he purchased his home on Morgan Drive 27 years ago, the increased storage space allowed him to expand his vision for the Christmas light display into what it is now. It’s gotten so big, one of his neighbors happily gives up space in his own yard for the show. Lights line the roof of his home, as does the f...

    Trudy Fredrickson, Wah. Co. Eagle|Dec 11, 2013

Yes, it was cold. Some of our pipes froze, but with a little patience and time, we eventually have water again. Just like camping for a day or two. We did make sure that the animals had fresh water and a warm place to stay, and added a feeder and a heat lamp to the inside of the chicken pen, though they even said “it’s too cold to lay you any eggs.” Now we are back to a little bit of normal behavior. Naselle news With the winter weather hitting us just a bit early, the Naselle-Grays River Valley students have already experienced some snow...
