  • Names of deceased veterans sought for memorial service

    A Veterans Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 9 at 11 a.m. at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park, 5050 Mt. Solo Road, Longview. They are looking for names of Veterans from Wahkiakum and Pacific counties to be honored at the memorial service. All deceased veterans are entitled to be included in the service, those who received military honors as well as those who didn’t.   • Loop Road Repairs

    A Catworks company excavator hoists a concrete block that will shore up a sliding slope along Loop Road. Wahkiakum County Public Works Director Pete Ringen said Wednesday that the retaining wall is nearly complete. Catworks proposed an alternate design for the wall, and the project was delayed while that was evaluated and finally accepted at a savings to the county, Ringen said.
