    Over the past several years, we have seen remarkable strides toward the recovery of the Columbian white-tailed deer, mainly as a result of translocations; however the decision to conduct a translocation is still difficult. One has to evaluate all the possible scenarios in which the translocation could go wrong and weigh them against the benefits of moving the animals.     The Wahkiakum Mini-Mules extended their league winning streak to five games with a decisive 41-14 win last Saturday over a Kelso youth team. The game started with the Mules scoring on just three plays, capped by an 18 yard run by Brody Carlson, which gave the Mules an early 6-0 lead.     The Wahkiakum Mule volleyball team added a couple matches to their win column this week, beating Pe Ell on Tuesday and a tough Mossyrock team last Thursday. The Mules are 4-2 in league and 9-2 overall. The team traveled to Pe Ell on Tuesday and beat the Trojans in three sets, 25-22, 25-21 and 25-11.
