The Cathlamet Yacht Club would like to thank everyone who participated in this year's raffle. A drawing was held September 21st during the Membership Dinner at the Elochoman Marina. Redmen Hall will hold their annual Holiday Open House on Friday, October 29 through Sunday, December 22. The artisans of Wahkiakum and Pacific counties are invited to participate in this holiday sale of items made by local friends and neighbors. Wahkiakum Helping Hand President Shane Skinner signed the lease for Erickson Park on October 7. Helping Hand, a nonprofit corporation, plans to place a portable building in a section of Erickson Park to serve as a food bank. According to a report from Helping Hand, grants, matching funds and donations will finance the project. The group is still working out details but hopes to have the foundation in place next year. Redmen Hall would like to announce its final exhibit of 2013 showing the paintings of the well known artist Mike Swift. Currently he lives in Cathlamet, but has come from the busy world of Hollywood. He is a prolific storyboard artist for the film industry working with films like "View From the Top," "Red Line," "Stuart Little," "Taxi" and many others including advertising work for Nike, Microsoft, and Intel.
