    The Wahkiakum Mule football team rolled over the Pe Ell Trojans 36-12 in a sometimes wet and rainy homecoming football game last Friday. The win left the Mules with a 4-0 record, tied with Morton/White Pass and Napavine for first place in the Central League.     Last Thursday, the Mule and Warrior cross country teams traveled to Morton/White Pass to compete in the Fast & Flat meet. The middle school was represented by eighth graders Nate Hargrove and Aly Kirzy. Hargrove placed ninth with a time of 12:58 and Kirzy placed fifth with a time of 12:36. Margie was born on August 30, 1923 in Astoria, OR to Finnish parents, Waino Erik Rinell and Laina Marie (Hokkanen) Rinell. She was the granddaughter of Andrew Rinell (AnttiRiippa) who homesteaded in Salmon Creek in 1879. She lived her entire life in the Salmon Creek valley of Naselle. She spoke only the Finnish language until she started school at the Maple Grove Grade School in upper Salmon Creek. Her father died when she was 12 years old and she helped her mother...

He was born April 21, 1943 in Cathlamet, to Leonard and Betty (Hutton) Quigley and lived his entire life in the local area. He graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 1961 and served in the US Navy.
